Academic
Hello!
Moe is your Academic Officer this year.
I have multiple jobs this year! Firstly I’m responsible for providing feedback from the student body to the faculty so if you have any feedback please let me know or fill in the feedback form. I’ll do our best to get the Clinical School to listen to us and try and make some changes!
I organise the excellent teaching awards – a chance for us students to nominate individuals who have provided us with great teaching this year. Please see the page for more information and fill out the form with your nominations!
In the summer I will organise the ‘Electives Evening’ where the 6th years who have just got back from their electives, and current F1 doctors who had the chance to do electives abroad (pre-COVID) to talk to the 5th years to give them ideas on how/when to start organising electives!
Additionally we organise a variety of talks such as the Schwartz Round and the Piklington talk. I’ll be publicising these on Facebook and on the Bulletin so do keep an eye out for them!

Feedback is so important and is the only way to make the Clinical School change its (sometimes annoying) ways!
Student Voice usually happens during R&I week and many faculty members turn up to listen to us students so please come along to these!
Please message us on Facebook or at academic@nullclinsoc.co.uk with any feedback or ideas and we will pass these onto upstairs and various meetings that we have with the faculty.
Clinical years at medical school are undoubtedly the most fun and rewarding, but unfortunately medical students may be witness to concerning behaviour by tutors or other healthcare professionals.
Medical students have been described as ‘invaluable as the eyes and ears in a hospital setting’ by a GMC report, and it is important for all of us to know how to voice our concerns.
This outlined in detail on this MedEd page and you can always speak to Moe and Katie as the ClinSoc’s Academic and Welfare Reps.
The winners of the 2020 Excellent Teaching Awards have been announced!
